On 27th November 2013 (Wednesday), Cochrane Leos had carried out a cleaning project at Bukit Saga. It is located at Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya, Jalan Pandan Utama, 55100, Ampang, Selangor. During the project, the Leos cleaned the area around the hill by picking up the rubbish along the hiking path. Besides that, the Leos also cleaned the waterfall area by removing the rubbish in the water. The project started at 9.00am and ended at 1.30pm. The whole journey is about 4 hours. It was a wonderful experience for the Leos besides inspiring them to strive harder to improve the quality of our natural environment.
On 21st November 2013 (Thursday), Leo Wilson Khor and Leo Aison Hoh from Leo Club of SMK Cochrane had participated in the Lions Club International District 308B1 YES Camp 2013. The camp was held at Kem Bina Semangat, Ampang Pecah, 44000 Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The camp started on 21st November 2013 and ended at 24th November 2013.
On the first day, we gathered at YMCA Brickfields and took the bus to the campsite. Many activities had been carried out during the camp, such as outdoor games, presentation of keys, night walk, obstacles cross, and water rafting. We took the bus and went back to YMCA Brickfields on the last day.
From the camp, we learn the 10 keys to excellence, that are integrity, ownership, passion, speaking with good purpose, commitment, this is it, failure leads to success, flexibility, balance, and gratitude. It was a wonderful experience for us and we would cultivate the keys in my daily life. Last but not least, we will strive to be a more active Leo and work harder to serve the community. Roar!
On 2nd November 2013, 10 Cochrane Leos attended the Leo Club of SMK Datok Lokman’s Halloween Party 2013. The event was held in SMK Datok Lokman. The event started at 6.00pm and ended at 8.30pm. The theme of the Halloween party was “Trick or Treat”. There were singing and dancing performances besides the game session. It was a wonderful event and we enjoyed ourselves very much
